The blood on the video of the ISIS beheading hasn't even dried yet and Maher is already taking aim in an ISIS tweet, over something the NYTimes said.
Isis- "one of thousands of Islamic militant groups" (NYTimes) beheads another. But by all means lets keep pretending all religions are alike
— Bill Maher (@billmaher) August 20, 2014
Oh yes, this twitts were sure to say something and this twitter follower summed up the "religion of peace" nicely

Well, we are about to watch them have to "defend themselves," welcome to America As*Hole
@AkiMuthali @billmaher Show me where Islamist ever defended themselves?

Basically,
Maher is trying to get around to saying that for the sake of political
correctness and not wanting to offend, some won’t acknowledge the fact that
this group is evil and different from other theologically-based groups, and
that in itself is dangerous.
As we can see,
his tweet struck a nerve with some and generated the reaction he wanted. Whether we agree with Maher or not, his
twitter comments are certainly going to be entertaining and are usually a
conversation starter.
