Protect the shield, AT ALL COST!

Well friends, here we are 3 weeks into the NFL season, and yes we have yet another domestic violence incident.  This time its Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer.  Appears, Mr. Dwyer thought perhaps he was on the field trying to get the first down, when he head butted his wife.  No, forgive me, he lost his temper in an argument and unleashed his version of domestic violence.  This past week, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell held a press conference to address the tidal wave of violence running rough shot  this early season!

Well it seems that the National organization of Women (NOW) is calling for his resignation.  Mind you, NOW should really zip it Now!  Where was NOW speaking out against the killing of Christian women or the treatment of Muslim women?  But, I digress.  Goodell is doing what he thinks is best under the circumstances of being exposed for not handling the Ray Rice incident in a timely fashion, especially according to ESPN that the League and the Ravens knew of the entire video prior to the release by TMZ.

Friends, the NFL as I have stated is a multi-billion dollar entity, That chugs along the tracks that are lined by passionate fans spanning the globe.  I would venture to say, if you polled fans that were tail gating today or for that matter anywhere, They probably heard of ALL the rash of domestic violence Incidents, BUT DON'T CARE, because their team is playing today and their hoping for the win.  When the Rice case broke, women were wearing Rice jerseys that Sunday, When the Peterson case broke, fans were showing up with switches to the game that Sunday!  Yes, domestic violence of any kind, especially to women and children is disgusting and despicable on every level.  Football fans may have some empathy for these issues but come Sunday, ALL is forgotten!

All of these cases need to play out in court, NOT pled out.  If they are guilty, than they need to be punished in accordance of the law.  There is one thing that is certain, there will be football next Sunday, and Goodell is going nowhere, contrary to NOW's proclamations.  He is paid by the owners of the NFL, and no player, commissioner or incident will ever diminish the power of the shield......
