Cosmopolitan magazine recently endorsed the candidacy of Wendy Davis for Governor of Texas in her fruitless attempt garner enough votes to beat Greg Abbot. The editors claim
Davis is on the right side of the interests of a broad range of people in an increasingly diverse state. She supports raising the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour, an important issue in the state with the most minimum wage workers in the country — nearly half a million Texans make $7.25 cents an hour or less, most of them women. Davis also supports marriage equality, an issue making its way through the courts now as two Texas couples challenge the state's ban on same-sex marriage. So, if Wendy is so right about so many things, how come she is polling so poorly in Texas? According to Real Clear Politics, Abbot is sitting pretty with a 12.7% lead. And, if she is a Democrat's dream, how come the majority of Battleground Texas emails I receive tout Ann Richards, the last Democrat Texas governor who only served one term and was defeated by George W. Bush?

Perhaps Texans simply have a war on women or, better yet, don't share the views and values of the editors and subscribers of Cosmopolitan. A rag which spends a great deal of time trying to be a sex expert and teach young women how to have a better time in the sack doesn't have much credibility when trying to promote serious issues.
It's going to take a lot more than an endorsement from Cosmo to push this poor excuse for a woman to a win in the Texas gubernatorial election. Davis is one of the most deceitful and chronic liars in politics, man or woman, which says a lot when we look at the competition for that dubious dishonor.
ReplyDeleteShe's an epic fail. Hopefully, it's the new progressive trend.
