Politico is touting that Barack Obama is still out and about trying to work his magic in urging the African-American community to come out and support/vote for his candidates. Last night, the president's effort was for Wisconsin Governor hopeful Mary Burke (D). He claimed (with a straight face),
“The country as a whole is doing better. Wisconsin is not doing so good,” Obama said, referring to slower-than-average job growth. “Over the next week you have the chance to change that. You have the chance to choose a governor who doesn’t put political ideology first, who is not making partisanship first. She puts you first.”However, his rhetoric fell on some deaf ears - those who chose to walk out during his speech. Didn't Mary get the memo to disown the president and his policies? Evidently not.
