President George W. Bush gave an almost prophetic speech in 2007,
one that Obama should have listened to, when he warned about the dangers of
leaving Iraq too early: the region could
become a safe haven for terrorists, could
result in mass killings, and would require that the United States return there
in the future.
Fox News reporter Brian Kilmeade sat down with the
President at his fourth annual tournament for Wounded Warriors to discuss life
after the presidency, the importance of honoring our nation’s veterans, and the
ongoing situation in Iraq with ISIS.
Given that he had so accurately predicted what might
happen in Iraq, Kilmeade asked Bush what he'd do, and he could have taken the
opportunity to criticize the way things have unfolded. However, even he thought
better than to " have a former President bloviate." Now that's class.
What he did say instead was so much better, and a side of a leader that is
missing today.
