When most Americans think of the holiday to express thanks, the go-to is usually Thanksgiving which is just around the corner. But, how many of us stop and think - if it were not for the brave men and women who don the military uniform and take the oath, would we be celebrating Thanksgiving in a free and secure American?
This is why we honor Veterans for the sacrifices they have made so we can live in freedom. It doesn't matter that the initial fight for freedom took place over two centuries ago. On this day it should be a priority to thank those who have served in our armed forces for their willingness to protect our freedom when and if the need arises. So, how will you say "Thank you" on Veterans Day?
In peacetime or war, our soldiers are one of the great symbols of our nation. We thank you, on this Veterans Day, and everyday.
